Art Studio on the Brink of a Rocky Coastline

If you are an artist who has lacked inspiration, there is hope. Just looking at the Squish Studio and the environment around it will definitely wake something in you. The studio is found in Tilting, a small town found in Fogo Island on its most eastern part. The studios ground is rocky to a point where the building’s southern end had to be perched up high by around 20 ft, to have a floor surface that is leveled inside.

Saunders Architecture have designed the Squish Studio where it caters for its own power and heating needs by producing its own, through solar panels perched on a hilltop. It has a stove for burning wood, small kitchen and compost toilet.
