If you have never seen a portrait or a piece of art that has been created over a number of years, or four to be exact, then you need to peer into Pierre Fouche’s artistic masterpiece. The artist is based in Cape Town and has created the Lace Portrait over the last four year through the use of bobbin lace harnessed in threads of polyester.
Not many people can remember anyone working with lace due to the amount of patient required to come up with something quite intricate, while immeasurable skills in the same are highly required. The lace portrait will make up Whatiftheworld, a solo show coming up soon.
