How to Turn Off or Disable the Windows Store Application in Windows 8
One of the great features that windows 8 offer to its users is the Windows Store. Users can now enjoy downloading their favourite applications from the store just as they usually do with their Smartphones and other operating systems such as Android and iOS. You can connect the windows store application to your several devices as well as to your email account.
However, if you are using a shared PC it would be risky to open up your Windows store account for anybody to download and install applications. It is therefore prudent to turn it off using the following steps:
Step 1: open the Run dialogue box by clicking Windows icon +R. then type the words gpedit.msc and click okay.
Step 2: the Local Group Policy Editor of the PC will open. Go to computer configuration, then to Administrative templates, then to Windows templates and finally to Store.
Step 3: select the turn off Store Application button and click on enabled. Restart you PC and then try to access the windows store. If you were successful you should see the message “Windows Store isn’t available on this PC. Contact your system administrator for more information”.
